Day 1: Arusha

This is where all of your planning becomes a reality: your safari starts now. Tanzania is such a wonderful country when it comes to wildlife and beautiful landscapes. After we greet you and answer any questions you might have, we'll take great pleasure in taking you out and showing you what we mean.

Spend some time in Arusha, both the gateway city for most safaris in northern Tanzania and a fascinating place to explore. Enjoy good restaurants, streets filled with energy and so many snapshots of vibrant Tanzanian city life. It’s everything you look for in an urban pit stop.

Day 2 & 3: Tarangire National Park

If you’ve never been to Tarangire (and even if you have) you’re in for a real treat. Tarangire is filled with giants – baobab trees all across the park, as well as elephants, lots of them. But that’s just the beginning. Of the big cats, you’ll probably see lions, and cheetahs and leopards are around, too. And it’s impossible to miss the wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes and zebras. Your backdrop for all of this is one of the prettiest in northern Tanzania, with a memorable mix of river woodland, open plains and rolling hills. And some vantage points to take it all in.

Activity Day 2

Explore fantastic Tarangire on a guided game drive that will take you out among the baobab trees to look for lions, elephants and more.

Activity Day 3

Take a guided game drive around the forests and along the lakeshore of Lake Manyara National Park, and look for elephants and tree-climbing lions, all in the company of an expert guide.

Day 4 & 5: Southern Serengeti National Park

Many visitors fall in love with the Serengeti here in the south of the park. That's because the wildlife viewing is outstanding as the animals move across the golden grasslands that are so typical of the Serengeti. This landscape is perfect for cheetahs, and the rocky outcrops here allow spotting of lions and leopards.

You’ll join our expert guide on safari in Southern Serengeti National Park on a guided game drive where you’ll track wildlife and ask questions about what you’re seeing.

Activity Day 5

Led by a professional wildlife guide, you’ll discover the wildlife of Southern Serengeti National Park and learn so much along the way.

Day 6 & 7: Central Serengeti National Park

When people dream of the Serengeti, it's probably the Central Serengeti they're dreaming of. That's because you're in the perfect place to see all that the Serengeti has to offer, and this is the area of the park where wildlife is present in the biggest numbers. It's also filled with acacia trees and those Serengeti horizons that seem to go on forever.

Serengeti National Park (Day 7)

Here in the Serengeti you’ll find big cats (leopard, lion and cheetah), big herds (wildebeest, zebra and buffalo) and very big elephants.

Activity Day 6

You never quite know what you'll see on your guided game drive in the Central Serengeti as your guide takes you through some of Tanzania's best wildlife country.

Activity Day 7

A guided game drive through Serengeti National Park is one of the best safari experiences you can have anywhere in Africa. Apart from the signature savannah grasslands and the park's amazing wildlife, your guide will show you all that's good about the Serengeti.

Day 8: Ngorongoro Crater

Your first sight of Ngorongoro Crater is likely not one you’ll easily forget. As seen from the crater rim, this natural bowl, both vast and intimate, is one of Africa’s most beautiful natural features, stretching 19 green kilometers (12 miles) from one side to the other. Down in the crater itself, you’ll explore an astonishingly rich, self- contained ecosystem that is protected by high crater walls. Here, lions and hyenas hunt wildebeest and Grant’s gazelle within sight of elephants and black rhinos. Your day spent here will reveal a surprising variety of habitats, from the Lereal Forest and salty Lake Magadi to the plains that rise and fall gently all across the valley floor.

You're sure to love staying at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, one of the most luxurious lodges anywhere around the Ngorongoro Crater rim. The views are stunning from just about everywhere on the property, the accommodation is filled with character, and the service (with private butler service) and food are also terrific. Watch for zebras wandering through, and learn about the lodge's work with lion conservation projects.

Day 9: Arusha

Arusha amply rewards those who return and you’ll enjoy having another chance to get under the skin of this busy city.

You'll never get tired of going on a walking safari, where you'll leave behind the vehicle and step out into the wild. It can be a little nerve-wracking at first, but you'll be walking with an experienced guide and it's very safe. It can be a real thrill walking in this way, and most people fall in love with the experience..
